Why participate? Hear what some of our partipants say
Ronald, Board President of Rosemead School District: We are looking into participation in the Discover China program to grow via cooperation between our elementary schools and institutions.
Dr. Marian, Global Studies Director: This program will assist me to learn about different areas of high school curriculum students engage in China. I will be working on curriculum development at the college on Chinese Studies to incorporate in our Global Studies program, as well as embeding study abroad into the program.
Kelli, Acacia Elementary School: The Chinese-American population at our school would greatly and directly benefit from this Discover China program because I could better communicate and serve the needs of these students and their parents. I would love to facilitate an enrichment cluster with Chinese language and culture.
Prof. Graciela, Department Chair of Counseling: We are currently exploring re-establishing our international student program. We also have a new Associates Degree for Transfer in Global studies which will include an emphasis on Far Eastern cultures. I would like to have the opportunity to explore China's culture and its students to better prepare our students that pursue Global Studies.
