Central University For Nationalities (CUN) hosted Sino Language 2008/2009 Beijing summer camp. We are expecting to have CUN be our host school again this next year.
Founded in 1941, the CUN (colloquially known as Míndà in Mandarin) is a distinguished comprehensive and national key university in China, is regarded as the cradle of graduates and professionals of 56 Chinese ethnic groups. Currently the university comprises of 18 schools that offer 55 majors to more than 11,230 undergraduates, 2,740 master's and doctoral candidates. Its Sociology ranked No.33 among the first 100 in 2007 China University Review. Nearly 2000 faculty members and 50 research institutes on-campus brought the university to the leading position in the fields of religious study, China minority economics, policy-making, art, language and bionomics, etc. CUN is also very famous for the art and music education, including pottery design, sculpture, painting studios, and minority singing and dancing.
Sino Language camps will be held in the College of International Education at the Central University for Nationalities. The College of International Education offers Chinese language teaching to all international students and is responsible for the development of the discipline of Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language at CUN. 90% of the faculty members in the College of International Education possess the National Certificate of Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language (TCFL, Level A).
The university is between the north 2nd ring road and the 3rd ring road in Haidian district - known as the university and high-tech zone in Beijing. The China National Library, China Grand Theatre and Beijing Art Museum are closely located. Excellent location is one of the advantages for the school and it provides much convenience both in study and lives.
